4.3.2 Maternal Mortality Rate
Maternal Mortality Rate (per 100,000 live births) is one of the indicators
indicating the health care services, whether women can access to the service when
getting pregnant and child deliverable.
To improve the population’s quality of life, the Government has set
the targeted goals started in Economic and Social Development Plan and
National Health Plan in supporting fertiled women and mother’s health. From
Health Statistics, in 2012 the maternal mortality rate was likely to increase from
9 children per 100,000 live births in 2011 to 18 children per 100,000 live births in
2012 because Ministry of Public Health has implemented data system of
maternal mortality.
