3.2.5 Vocational Education
The social values of education in Thailand are still focusing on
general education. Although vocational education system is promoted to
support the labour market needs in some certain fields, it still cannot meet the
needs of the labor market. Therefore, it is agenda of the Ministry of Education in
promoting the studying in vocational education.
In becoming 2015, Thailand will be engaging in the ASEAN
community, thus, a free-flow skilled labour for the ASEAN Economic Community
Policy will push Thailand to produce skilled labour to support the needs of
ASEAN labour market, which will be resulting in adjusting education policies of
the country.
