Education
3.1 Policy and Targeted Goal of Education in Thailand
The 11th Economic and Social Development Plan has targeted to develop
the long-life learning society for the Thai people by enhancing the quality of
education up to international standard level. The education and learning system
has been reformed systematically, as well as extended the opportunity of learning
in multi-dimension. The targeted goal of the National Plan are to increase an
average years of schooling to be 12 years and increase average points of major
subjects to more than 50%. For the past 10 years, an average years of schooling
was less than 10 years, although, the government has subsidized in education,
it was slightly changed. These are the challenges of the public sectors concerned
in how to handle to achieve the national development goal.
