ource: The Labour Force Survey: Round 3 July-September 2008-2013, National Statistical Office.
2.2 Employment, Unemployment and a Lay Off
Demands on labour are different depending on the labour market, therefore
there is an imbalance in terms of quantity and quality of the labours. This may cause
the problems of unemployment and under-employment. The major problem of the
Thai labours are their levels of education, from the Labour Force Survey, it showed
that average years of schooling of Thai labours was about 8 years (7.9 years in 2008 and
8.5 years in 2013), which was lower than that of the ASEAN member countries.
