From the registration based population in 2012, there were of about
65 million people, of these, about 23 million people, accounting for 33.9% were
living in the municipal area and about 42 million, to 66.1% living in rural area.
However this number may not include population commuting between city and
rural areas because of registration which account for number of population in
house registration differ from census which account for the residents in any area.
Bangkok, where is the centre of education, job opportunities and
industrial zone, trade, services centers, with the population density 3,625 person/km2
in 2013 decreased from 3,631 person/km2 in 2006. Nonthaburi, where is the
second density with 1,858 person/km2, increased from 1,605 person/km2, in 2006.
