5.1 Social Welfare Services
5.1.1 Education
Education service is the most important basic factor as it is the core
component for people in making a living. The Thai government subsidizes the
education to children from kindergarten to upper secondary level. However in
2013, it was found that among 100 population aged 3-17 years, only 86 students
were in formal education, the rest were not.
In addition, to support the students to further their studies, the
government has set up education loan policy, since March 31, 1995, to lend the
students amount of money for tuition fee and other educational expense.
