Gender Statistics
With more potential, more pro-actively participating in socio economic
and political situations of all country than before currently women are taking
more important roles in the country development compared to the past. They
share not only a lead role in the family as motherhood but also a working role
for a family support. However, women in some societies are still not treated as
equal as men.
This chapter presents gender statistics in various dimensions, such as
health, education, work and social status to reflect an inequality between men
and women which can benefit a better understanding the current situation to
policy makers then led to a proper policy making so as to provide effective
services in related dimensions.
6.1 Population
A number of males and females are fundamental statistics to be an input
for the sound policies in gender matters. From registration in 2013, it showed
that there were 65 million people, of these, 34 million were females and the
rest were males. (Sex ratio male 100 persons per 96 females).
