Statistical Indicators 2013
Introduction
Background
The National Statistical Office of Thailand has seen the importance of
availability of social statistics for public and private sectors to use them for their
benefits in evidence-based plans and policies, therefore, the National Statistical
Office has published the publication on Social Indicators every two years.
This 2013 Social Indicators is the latest version; presenting trends and current
situations of the major social indicators compiled from various sources of data.
This publication was divided into 7 sectors, namely; Population and Housing,
Labour Force, Education, Public Health, Social Welfare, Gender Statistics and Other
Social Statistics. These indicators can be used for the evidence-based plans and
policies, as well as to monitor and evaluate plans and policies, trends and social
situations.
Objective

To study the social situations of the country in the major areas of
Population and Housing, Labour Force, Education, Public Health, Social Welfare,
Gender Statistics and Other Social Statistics.
•
To provide better and updated statistics and indicators for the sound
social plans and policies.
•
To provide an awareness of the social situation and trends to the policy
makers.
