Social Indicators 2013
PREFACE
The National Statistical Office (NSO) published the first report on social
indicators in 1994 and the other four publications continuously. Then in 2009,
NSO revised the plan to publish this kind of publication every 2 years in order to
follow up the current situation. This 2013 social indicators is the seventh one.
The purpose of compiling social indicators is to provide and set up
the systematic of social indicators of the country and be able to have them
updated continuously. This publication presents the social indicators in 7 sectors
namely: Population and Housing, Labour Force, Education, Public Health,
Social-Welfare, Gender Statistics and Others Social Statistics. These indicators
can be used for planning, monitoring and evaluation of social changes during
the period of the 11
th
National Economic and Social Development Plan (2012-2016),
including other national plans and policies.
The National Statistical Office would like to express our sincere
appreciation to all concerned for their contributions and wish that, this publication
would be useful to government, private sectors and the general users.
